May I offer a suggestion from personal experience learned the hard and save you some money on street tires in the process? I would suggest completely go around the water. Do not back into it and do the pro stock burnout. It is tempting not to do this because it looks and sounds cool as hell. It makes your tires slippery and you lose more traction. All you need to do is a dry spin or haze to clean off your tires on street tires. Your other idea is even better. Put some drag radials on it and launch the hell out of it!

i went around the water box each time.
tried no burn out
tried just dry hop
etc etc and so on
this was the best pass
not the best 60' of the night, but seems i got down the track better with traction off, but a worse 60
some drag radials will be appied one way or the other on the rest runs, may even have a tune by then

I wonder how the FRPP tune would react to this intake...
