Kooks Headers - Dyno Results - 05-03-2013

Finally decided to say screw the warranty and get some mods done!
Stock (besides borla mufflers) put down 355hp
After LT headers and tune it put down 404hp

Might need to wait for it to break in but kinda wish it was louder at least at idle lol.

12 5.0 - Borla Atak mufflers - Current Ride
08 GT - Carbon Fiber Steeda Intake, Corsa Xtreme Mufflers, Pypes LT w/ H Pipe - Totaled
06 V6 - Hi Po Xcharger, Shaftmaster Driveshaft, Dual Boral Stingers - Sold
99 V6 - The car that started my Mustang craze - Gone

Those are good numbers! If you really want it louder, get the off road X pipe. But be prepared for it to be really loud, no matter what axleback you run.

Thanks guys. I have the catted H pipe on for emission reasons. Will going catless really make that much of a difference?

My 08 GT that had catless pypes LTs was louder than this lol. At WOT it sounds like a monster, but at idle it just sounds like axle backs. Really like that rough idle.

You have some great horsepower gains from the headers with the catted x pipe. I have a catless x pipe on my car and it sounds great but it is obnoxiously loud.

I recall an article in the now defunct Mustang Enthusiast Magazine where they tested high flow catted x-pipes against off road x-pipes and the difference in horse power was vey slight. Unfortunately I threw out a bunch of magazines when I moved and the article was in one of mags that I tossed. As a side thought......... I sure miss that magazine as it was the best Mustang mag of all in my opinion. They had more useful information than Muscle Mustangs and 5.0 Mustangs.

Wait, I thought he just had The Kooks LT's and stock mid pipe?

49rwhp gain with just a tune and headers is REALLY impressive! Well done sir, I might be getting me a set of Kooks if they show that much of a gain.

Mine made 420 with LT's, O/R X, and the tune, so he's right in the ballpark with those numbers. There are a couple of cars running around here with the same mods making 430. Factory freaks!
