Quad Tip Shelby Style Exhaust...other goodies. - 07-01-2013

I haven't been on in a few months and thought I would share some of what I've been up to with the car. No track, it's just something I take to car shows, cruises and dinner dates. I started last year with 20" Shelby Razors and Nitto rubbers.
Next up was a new shifter. I went with the Hurst with a Barton 2 post bracket, Roush boot and then got a Speed Dawg ball with SuperSnake stripes and Cobra.
After that I put the car away for the winter. This spring first order of business was tint. Got the windows tinted and I tinted the fogs, markers, third brake, center of the tail lights and reflectors. Next order of business was exhaust and lower control arms. I kind of have a Shelby theme going on so I went with Shelby LCAs and ordered some coil covers to set off under the hood. I got a GT500 style Quad Tip axel back muffler delete and the GT500 diffuser to fit the four exhaust tips. I had to cut into my bumper but I think it was well worth it, looks great and I get compliments on the sound every time I drive it. I am enjoying taking the car to shows this summer and it's an absolute blast to drive. Cheers!

Looks good man! I love the quad tips, wish they made a decent kit for the '12s.

Thanks guys. I find myself drawing out my shifts just to hear the exhaust. It's very intoxicating.

It sounds like a pack of tigers. Winning.
I really like the sound. It's loud on startup (especially in my garage) but then it settles down after idling for about twenty seconds. I can keep it low around cops shifting early, coasting and what not. Then I can open it up, rev it, it pops a little when I coast at high rpms but sounds great doing it. It seems to intimidate (or anger, scare, make jealous, something) lifted trucks and Honda Civics. I get a lot of those guys sticking their heads out their window with their mouths open and their forehead wrinkled when I drive by. I think it is great with the rest of my exhaust being stock but it may be too loud if I ever get headers, mid pipe, etc. If so I will just have to drop 900 on some quad tip Borlas. I think next to wheels and tint though, this is definitely a head turning and worthwhile mod. Two thumbs up!
