Aussie swap? - 06-14-2017

Has anybody toyed with the idea of swapping in an Aussie barra 4.0 inline 6 fg in a s197 chassis? Motors seem very well built and seem cheap well in Australia shipping and such not sure?

I've thought it would make a cool swap after seeing one make huge HP on a dyno. The inline 6 is a well balanced engine. It would be cost prohibitive on this side of the world though.

Yea that's what I was thinking too seems it would difficult to do! Unless you get get or got a friend in military that was stationed by and have then grab all the stuff you'd need and bring it state side. Still a lot of stuff to figure out.

Before I put the 5.4 3V in mine, I was looking at the motor. Powerhouse even sourced one for me. What stopped me was while I could get the motor and parts - there was the cost of ongoing parts and maintenance for the drive train. I would have to source all of it from Australia with the appropriate wait time.

No kidding...even with a complete spare engine, I'd be nervous. Would make a really cool swap, though.
