Newer Mustang V6 - 11-20-2013

I have been absent for awhile here since I sold My 06 v6 Xcharged ride. I everything about the car but we moved back to CA ( :( ) and I sold it.

My questions are,,,,how good is the new V6 or should I opt for the 5'0.
Would I be satisfied with the 6 with some minor mods, mpg is getting to be important.
Which of the V6's most resemble the 06 "Pony Package" suspension etc.
are the newer ones,,2011-13 a quieter and more comfortable ride?

I havent been paying any attention lately because of other priorities but will soon be back in the game....more comfort than speed,,,but want a happy medium.

I liked being involved here and am looking forward to more helpful hints...

New sixxers are nice! The 3.7 is better on mileage and 305 advertised hp.

Interiors are nice too.

If you're ok with spending a little more the 2015s are going to be unleashed on December 5th.

I went from the 2006 Pony package convertible with Xcharger Xtreme to a 2013 MCA convertible (basically the same as the pony just different grilles, stripe, and the wheels aren't chrome).

The ride is much nicer in the 2013 and it might be a little quieter. Hard to tell since the 2006 was actually pretty loud inside with the GTA mufflers. Comparing the 2013 and 2006 when they were both set up the same way (just a tune and drag radials) the 2013 is quite a bit quicker, and gets much better gas mileage.

Now with twin turbo 3.5LV6.

I think they start taking orders too?

I'm not too sure, in any case, revealed.

There is absolutely no comparison between the 4.0 and the 3.7. I had both - a '07 4.0 Pony Package and a base '13 V-6; both were automatics. The 3.7 with the six speed automatic is light years ahead of the old 4.0 in performance, smoothness, quietness, and fuel economy. The '13 has a six speed automatic and I got as high as 34 mpg on the highway. The 4.0 is rough and crude compared to the 3.7.

If you want both performance and comfort, order the Premium trim model with the V-6 performance package (contains upgraded suspension, brakes, reprogramed stability control, strut tower brace, and 3.31 gears vs the standard 2.73). Then throw in the comfort package which includes heated leather seats and a six way power passengers seat. The sticker will be over $30k but the dealers are discounting them and there are up to $3500 in rebates available. Check out www.ford.com and build your car on paper on line. Not sure, however, if you can still order a '14 as the '15's are due shortly after the new year.

I was not planning on a new one,but plans do change. The"performance package is high on the must have/find list. I played a lot with my 06,,,xcharger,gears suspension etc but dont want to go that in depth anymore. A 3.7 sounds enticing and maybe a mild tune and CAI. Cant get rid of the need for speed completely. Looking at some body mods to be a tad different, but mostly stock.

No. The V6 has a 2.25" pipe and the GT is 2.5" or maybe 2.75" connection. In any event, the GT exhaust is larger from the cats back than the V6
