long tube headers - 02-22-2014

I finally decided to go ahead and install the long tube headers. It was fairly simple and I knocked out in a handful of hours on a Saturday. They are beautiful and fit great. With the off road x, they are really loud. However, the sound in person is better than I expected. I will be quieting the system down a little but haven't decided the exact route yet. I know a couple people have used 5.0 resonators to do so but I will see soon. Here is a quick pic and video clip for you guys.

well...looks like just a pic for now. Photobucket seems to be having technical difficulties with the video...

Still having issues with photobucket so still no video clip. When I am not in a mobile only environment and have more resources at my disposal, I will get things sorted out so you all can hear the monster...

Yes, I agree. Too loud. It definitely will not stay this way but I figured I would give something for comparison sake first so everyone can compare the before and after clips. I haven't quite decided what I will use yet. Most likely add in some bullet shaped mufflers in the mid pipes. I'm not sure that just a pair of resonators would be what I want.

Added 18" glasspacks to the midpipe. It is much more manageable now.

not my taste at all. far too raspy and loud for my old ears. even with my 2" stainless long tubes I use the gt mufflers and it is sweet music. sounds great when on the throttle but quiet when cruising with no rasp at all. if I want it really free flowing for the drags I can stick on the pypes violators. but hey everyone has there own tastes so go with what you like. the police around here would not let that go down the road without a ticket.

At idle and cruising speeds it is actually pretty quiet. It takes a handful of throttle and then it is back into the really loud category. It definitely isn't ticket worthy. I may have to see about doing a compilation video under driving conditions to give you the full picture. As it sits, under full throttle it is at the limit of what I can put up with. However, a majority of the time it is just fine.
