Well as some of you know I hurt something in the clutch/transmission on my last pass at the brawl. Since the trans has to come out already I feel my best fix is to put a 4r70 in the car. Here is my small list of things to do to the car while it us down.

4r70 swap
Install rebuilt irs with full tilt boogie bushing kit and mm coil overs
Repaint hood and bumper
Pull valve covers and have them powdercoated or hydrodipped
Pull intake manifold and timing chain cover to have powdercoated.
Remove the glenns performance sleeper fuel tank and put in a rear sump tank

I am sure more will come up but that is my list for now.

Good plan Evan. You going with manual valve body or automatic? I run a bauman controller with mine, works well.

I'm not sure what I want to do valve body wise, I rode in a buddies fox with an aod and mvb last night and it was not to bad but it would be nice to just be able to put it in drive and go

My OD button changes it from street to race tune, it can hold two tunes and the software to manage it is not half bad and does data logging.

I'm using the same setup: baumann controller with 4r70, two "tunes".

If I didn't have all the money already dumped into building the irs I would be putting a sra in it.

Need suggestions on what size of stall to get. What is everyone running and would you go with higher or lower? I know every setup is different but I need an area to start. Also what brand is everyone using?

Depends, you going with a trans brake? I run a precision Industries Stallion. From them it was around 3500. With the trans brake it of course was no problem getting it up there but trying to foot brake it I couldn't get the car to hold on the line past about 2700 without it pushing. I sent it back last year and had it re-stalled to about 4200 and for my application it works better. One thing nice about the PI converter is they give you one free re-stall.

You need to talk to turbo guys though because your motor has more torque down low than mine. I could probably go to about a 4800 stall and be good. I would think the standard Stallion at 3500 would be good for you.

Don't fall for the high stall converter is a pain on the street also...not true. Big thing with the high stall is they just put a bunch of heat in the trans, but if you are cruising then all you have to do is lock up the converter and the heat goes away.

Evan couple of buddies have went through that route. They ended up with 3.55 ratio and all are in the 4000-4400 stall area. Two started lower and liked the higher stall.
